I’m enjoying a holiday in Devon this week with hubby and our two Labradors. After a very long car journey down here yesterday, I can’t wait to head out for a walk on the beach this morning.
It probably won’t surprise any of you to know that I’ve brought with me a menu plan for the week ahead – including a couple of favourite meals (the honey mustard steaks and the nasi goreng) as well as a few new recipes I’m looking forward to trying out. I’m also planning on baking some Christmas treats that can be enjoyed during the festive season on No Count.
I’m just glad we managed to fit nearly everything into the car! With two dogs, two dog beds and their food, toys and blankets, there wasn’t much space left. I squeezed in the slow cooker, food processor and weighing scales but had to leave the airfryer behind. I also packed many of my baking ingredients and spices but the majority of food was ordered online and delivered to the house we’re staying in last night.
A couple of years ago, I never dreamed we’d enjoy a holiday like this. I used to see a holiday as a complete break from cooking and that’s why I piled the weight on as I was unable to resist hotel buffets or restaurant desserts. Now I’m actually looking forward to cooking some delicious food and enjoying the No Count lifestyle away from home.
New recipes for next week are courtesy of Mands (@mands5781):
- Pumpkin Spiced Loaf with a Vanilla Maple Cheesecake Topping
- Crispy Sea Bass and Potatoes with Mediterranean Vegetables
- Max’s No Count Gingerbread
Finally, I’d like to say a massive thank you for all your kind words and comments this week and thank you to everyone who lets people know about the website on Connect. It’s a real pleasure to share these recipes with you and it’s great to hear how you are enjoying them too.
I hope you all have a very successful week ahead, especially if you are giving No Count a try for the first time – and good luck with all weigh-ins!
PS: My weekly menu plan does include a Devon cream tea:-)
