Hi, I'm Helen and I'd like to welcome you to my website.  I'm a WW Gold Member and am currently maintaining with an online-only membership.

I've been following the WW No Count plan since August 2016: originally swapping to it to lose my final half stone but deciding to stay with it as it worked when all else failed.  You can read my full story under 'No Count Explained' - 'Why No Count?'.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve created and adapted recipes for No Count which I’d like to share with you on this website.  About a year ago, I began to include the points values for the recipes so that those of you following WW Freestyle could also try them.  There's a vegan/vegetarian section with recipes very kindly supplied by Marie, and I also share recipes received from Mands (including some fab dessert ones) - both of whom are friends I've made via WW Connect and are fellow WW Gold Members.

In September 2018, WW decided not to give new members the option of following the No Count plan but you are still welcome to have a look at the recipes and try them out on WW Freestyle.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have - just leave a comment on one of the pages - and you can also follow me on Instagram @helen_wwgoldmember and Connect @hhay50

I hope you enjoy what the website has to offer and I wish you every success on your WW journey.  Good luck!

  1. I am gutted that NC has been taken off the app. I will continue with it as it enables me to eat the same food as the rest of my family pretty much. I love your website and constantly refer to your recipes. Although I still have 4lb to go and it is taking forever I think NC is right for me. Jo

    1. Hi Jo, thank you for your comment: there are many people who feel just the same way. We can support each other – the No Count Friends group on Facebook is great for that:-) Wishing you all the best with losing that last 4lbs and reaching goal soon:-) Helen xxxxx

  2. I snack less and I’m not obsessed with how many points are left
And it’s autumn now I want porridge jacket potatoes and pasta and I’m not spending 7 points on 2 crumpets!
I did flex for my first 5 months tried no count as I was getting bored I loved the food I can eat. Tried flex last week STS and was hungry and focused on snacks

    1. Hi Jacqui, thanks so much for your comment. It sounds like NC suits you better and I really hope you can continue with it:-) Helen xxxxx

        1. That’s the great thing about No Count, isn’t it Jacqui? The snacking definitely decreases as the meals fill you up. Glad you liked the banana and mango cake: I must make it again soon:-) Enjoy the rest of your week, Helen xxxx

  3. Hi Helen, back from my holiday which gave my time to reflect on what had happened. I agree 100% with what you have written, my initial feeling was to embrace Flex and move on but here is the issue…..I feel better and eat better on NC, so I am going to carry on doing what I have been doing…. NC to maintain, I have my books still and your website and can continue to have the odd Flex day if I need to but really after a good holiday I feel I need to get back to good healthy eating and NC ticks that box for me. Like you I will continue on Connect for now and will still photograph my food 😘

    1. Hi Marie, welcome back from your hols:-) I know exactly what you mean about knowing you’ll feel better once back on NC – you’ve done it for so long now, you know what you’re doing:-). I’ll see you on Connect later:-) Helen xxxxx

  4. I went to be weighed today and my leader said she would support me if I wanted to continue with no count so that’s what I’m doing for now. Like you will see how it goes.

    1. Hi Pauline, it’s good to hear that your coach is going to be supporting you with No Count. Wishing you all the best over the next few weeks and hope it works out for you, Helen xxxxx

    1. Hi Margaret, I’m online only but I’ll still use the app to check the sp of foods I know are not on No Count and I love chatting to other members on Connect too. Could you use it for this? Helen xxxx

  5. My coach said she wouldn’t be supporting me on nc but would support me on changing to flex. As I’ve done filling and healthy and nc for over nine years, I’m just going to get weighed and come straight home, not staying to meeting.

    1. Hi Barbara, we were told at the meeting that coaches had been trained to continue supporting people with NC if that was their choice. I’ll pass your comment onto WW HQ:-) Helen xxxx

    2. Hi again Barbara, I’ve been advised to ask you to contact the Online coach and let them know which meeting you go to and what’s happened. I hope it can resolved and you can have the support we’ve been promised. Helen xxxx

  6. I feel just the same. I followed filling and healthy like Lisa and struggled when the change to no count happened. Like you it is the only time in years that I have not yo yo,ed with my weight I got to goal in 2014 and am still within my goal weight. This way of eating works for me

    1. Hi Pauline, thanks so much for your comment. It’s been such a hard decision to make because it’s seemed like a choice between continuing to be a member of WW or continuing with the No Count plan. As soon as I decided to do both, I felt a lot better and I’m just going to see how it goes. Well done for 4 years maintaining – that’s awesome! I wish you all the best in the future – let’s see another 4:-) Helen xxxxx

  7. Hi. I just tried a week of flex and it’s not for me. I’ve always done no count and it’s always worked. Being vegan I discovered that only 28 items are on zero point list compared to 104 for omnivores!!!! This is why they say it’s easy for them!!! I’m on week 28 and have only put on 1 week . No Count works! Also when your making say a pasta dish for family meal it’s not so easy to work out flex points. I’m sticking with nc. It works 🙂

    1. Hi, it’s good to hear you’re sticking with No Count: it definitely does work:-) Hope you manage ok in the weeks ahead, good luck! Helen xxxxx

    1. Hi Debbie, I know – I still can’t quite believe it. They are going to continue supporting current members on NC but it won’t be offered to new members. I’m posting a blog about it tomorrow:-) Helen xxxxx
