Hi everyone!

It’s been a busy week this week, and I’ve tried to cram in as much as possible.  Visiting Leighton Hall, and seeing the birds of prey, was the highlight on Tuesday and I always enjoy ‘Starbucks Wednesday’ where my colleagues and I walk the hour’s round trip to Starbucks.  My favourite No Count coffee, at the moment, is a skinny latte with one of the sugar-free syrups.  Hubby and I also managed a trip to the beach one evening, with our two Labradors, and made the most of the evening sun.

I have also been doing a lot of reflecting this week, as I have done over the months since reaching goal.  If you’ve read my story in ‘Why No Count’, you’ll know that this is the first time I’ve managed to successfully maintain the weight I have lost.  Many of us Weight Watchers are here because we cannot be the weight we want to be and eat what we want to eat all the time.  It’s taken me years to realise that it’s not about reaching goal and then going back to the way I used to eat, it’s about finding a way of eating that will suit me for the rest of my life.

I am so passionate about No Count because it is the only thing that’s worked.  This time last year, I never dreamed I’d be where I am now and am certainly feeling much healthier as a result.  I see No Count as a way of eating a limited number of foods while being as creative as you can with those ingredients.  This week I have updated the page ‘What a No Count Week Looks Like’: this is a great resource for anyone thinking of trying No Count for the first time.

As you’ve probably guessed, I do have a sweet tooth which is why I’ve created so many desserts for No Count.  These stop me reaching for a chocolate bar when I really feel the need for something sweet, although I would only recommend a maximum of one a day as any more could affect weight loss.

The Orange Spice Cake was a favourite last week, and I’m planning on baking another this weekend because hubby and I enjoyed it so much.  New recipes this week include:

  • Spicy Salmon with Sweet Potato
  • Sausage and Bean Casserole (my fave dish yet with those Heck sausages)
  • Flapjacks
